Organization
1040 Global is a non-profit missionary organization founded by Patras Rahmat, who worked several years in Pakistan and Afghanistan, until his life was endangered by death threats by Taliban radicals. He was encouraged by Christian leaders from Central Ohio to immigrate to Columbus, knowing that the Lord is bringing international students, immigrants and refugees from the Middle East, Central and Southern Asia, largely Muslims and Hindus, in great and increasing numbers.
Early in the year 2018, several spiritual leaders among evangelical churches in Central Ohio encouraged Patras to form a 501c3 corporation to better position himself as a missionary among these people groups with the partnership of churches and individuals of like mind. The result was the formation of the 1040 Global Board of Directors.
Rev. Ginny Teitt – Chairperson of the Board. She is a Pastor of a conservative Presbyterian Congregation. She has been deeply involved in missions down through the years.
Tim Farner – Secretary & Treasurer. Tim is a retired Mission Pastor from Grace Powell Church. He has had many years as a missionary and 14 years as a Mission pastor.
Sandra Farner serves as a volunteer Administrative Assistant to Our Director of Ministry, Patras Rahmat. She prepares communications to our ministry partners and manages communications from him, editing and sending important information.
Sandy also assists in secretarial support, working together with the Secretary, editing important communications and maintaining a database of our contacts and their information.
Rev. Robert (Bob) Charles – Director of Development, who lives in Akron, Ohio. He has brought experience in finance, organization and communication to our Board. He is helping us transition our financial administration into a new phase of restructuring and control.
Rev. Robert (Bob) Charles is working in business development in the secular world and as a volunteer in the same arena with 1040 Global Ministry. Bob is an expert in communication and social media as well as finances helping corporations that are in financial difficulties.
Dr. Wesley Vargas is a Retired Physician, who brings much insight and passion for outreach to immigrant families. He has worked for years in V.A. Medical Facilities in Central Ohio. He represents our outreach to Immigrants and Refugees as well as in an advisory capacity for our Board.
Mr. John Lahl is a retired businessman from Cleveland, Ohio. He is a faithful member of a Presbyterian Church in his suburb of Cleveland. He is an active volunteer with Samaritan’s Purse and has been in an advisory capacity for several years with the 1040 Global Board of Directors.
Mr. Samuel Asher has served our mission for several years with a good background as an immigrant from Pakistan. He lives on the West Coast and works as a business consultant, bringing wisdom into the affairs and business of 1040 Global.
Aamir Younas immigrated to Canada via Malaysia, leaving Pakistan under persecution. In Malaysia, Aamir was working with various Churches to assist refugees and migrant workers. He has been working with outreach to immigrants in Canada. He has been engaged with 1040 Global for the last few years but recently was invited to serve on the Board of 1040 Global Ministries. Aamir is experienced with social media.
Francis Lal– Regional Director has been leading a 1040 Global in Pakistan. He is reaching out to the unreached and unengaged people groups in his province, coordinating among pastors in outreach.
He has had a strong connection with Patras for several years. He coordinated the 1040 Global Flood Relief outreach in 2022, assisting families who suffered loss in the flood.
