1040 Global is a non-profit missionary organization founded by Patras Rahmat, who worked several years in Pakistan and Afghanistan, until his life was endangered by death threats by Taliban radicals. He was encouraged by Christian leaders from Central Ohio to immigrate to Columbus, knowing that the Lord is bringing international students, immigrants and refugees from the Middle East, Central and Southern Asia, largely Muslims and Hindus, in great and increasing numbers.

Early in the year 2018, several spiritual leaders among evangelical churches in Central Ohio
encouraged Patras to form a 501c3 corporation to better position himself as a missionary among
these people groups with the partnership of churches and individuals of like mind. The result was the formation of the 1040 Global Board of Directors.
